Man, Xavier is just not afraid to mindwipe people, is he? I mean it was all-kinds of startling to me when he did it to Magneto during Fatal Attractions but in these early issues it's like he can't go five minutes without making someone forget they're a mutant. The Blob has potential but... nothing really, he's just kind of a distraction. I mean in this issue he organizes a group of circus performers to take on the mansion. Circus performers. Tumblers, jugglers... these are the fierce thugs that are taking the X-Men on.

Yeah. The story just kind of falls a little flat. Although it does give us some good Cyclops-Marvel Girl tension and introduces the Xavier lusting for Jean thing that disappeared until Onslaught.
